Yellow Card Centre Wales' Medicine Safety Training Day 2022

Yellow Card Centre (YCC) Wales held their annual training day on the 9th June 2022. The event was held jointly with the All Wales Medicines Safety Network.

The training day was attended by Medicines Safety Officers, Yellow Card Champions and pharmacists/nurses with an interested in medicines safety. Colleagues from the MHRA and Welsh Government (including Andrew Evans, Chief Pharmaceutical Officer for Wales) also attended.

The programme for this year’s event included sessions on the Psychology of Safety, Pharmacogenetics, Yellow Card Biobank, ‘Let’s go Green for Med Safety’ and interventions that could increase reporting of adverse drug reactions in children.

Also included on the programme was a reflection on events during the COVID-19 pandemic including a patient’s impactful personal experience, and sessions about ‘regulating during a Pandemic’ and ‘delivering safe new medicines services during a pandemic’. Andrew Evans also delivered a session of the enduring importance of pharmacovigilance and announced the winners of the YCC Wales Poster Competition. Congratulations to:
