YCC Wales attend the Welsh Immunisation Conference

The Yellow Card Centre Wales (YCC Wales) team attended the Welsh Immunisation Conference on 24 April, where they hosted an information stand to raise awareness of the Yellow Card reporting scheme and promote patient safety.

Throughout the day, Dr Alison Thomas, YCC Wales Medical Director and Alana Adams, Principal Pharmacist for the Welsh Medicines Advice Service (WMAS) engaged with healthcare professionals from across Wales, providing information on how to recognise and report suspected adverse drug reactions, vaccine side effects, and issues relating to medicines and medical devices. Attendees also had the opportunity to learn more about recent reporting trends and the important role the Yellow Card scheme plays in monitoring the safety of medicines and vaccines.

The conference provided a valuable opportunity to network with colleagues involved in immunisation services and to highlight the importance of continued vigilance and reporting in supporting public health and patient safety across Wales.
