Emyr Jones has joined the All Wales Therapeutics and Toxicology Centre (AWTTC) as Consultant Pharmacist and National Lead for Wales: Community Healthcare, with the established national role transitioning into AWTTC.
Emyr brings extensive experience in community healthcare and pharmacy leadership, with a strong track record of advancing services that support patients closer to home including across primary and social care settings. In his role, he provides national leadership to support the development and optimisation of medicines use across community healthcare and social settings in Wales.
This transition reflects the continued strengthening of national coordination in community healthcare and social care, supporting closer alignment with AWTTC’s work to improve the safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines across NHS Wales and wider health and care systems.
Emyr plays a key role in supporting national priorities, working collaboratively with partners across NHS Wales, local authorities, and social care providers to improve service delivery, promote best practice, and enhance patient outcomes.
At AWTTC, he will contribute to strategic programmes aimed at improving the quality, safety, and efficiency of medicines use. His expertise helps shape policies and initiatives that support sustainable healthcare delivery and respond to the evolving needs of patients and communities, including those receiving care in social care and residential settings.
The transition of this established national role into AWTTC further strengthens the organisation’s multidisciplinary leadership and its commitment to supporting high-quality, patient-centred care across health and social care in Wales.
