New medicines advice for NHS Wales

Welsh Government has approved advice from the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG) for 2 medicines.

  • Brivaracetam (Briviact®) was recommended to treat a type of epilepsy that has partial seizures with or without a secondary generalisation in people aged 2 years and older.
  • Elbasvir/grazoprevir (Zepatier®) was recommended to treat chronic hepatitis C in children aged 12 years of age and older who weigh at least 30 kg.

AWTTC’s Patient Access to Medicines Service (PAMS) supports the AWMSG to assess and monitor new medicines in Wales.
