AWTTC collaborates with NICE and Health Improvement Scotland for the HTAi Annual Meeting 2021

For the first time the All Wales Therapeutics and Toxicology Centre (AWTTC) is collaborating with NICE and Health Improvement Scotland (HIS) for the Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi) Annual Meeting 2021.

AWTTC is one of three joint local hosts, alongside NICE and HIS, for the HTAi Annual Meeting taking place in the vibrant city of Manchester from 19-23 June 2021. HTAi Annual Meetings bring together more than 1,000 researchers, policymakers, industry partners, health services providers, technology developers and patients from around the world.

The role of local host gives AWTTC the opportunity to showcase the multidisciplinary team’s work as a leading authority for health technology assessment in Wales. The event will also give AWTTC a platform to raise Wales’ profile, by shedding light on the innovative work taking place in health technology assessment and beyond.

Last month, HTAi announced the theme of the 2021 Annual Meeting as ‘Innovation through Health Technology Assessment’. HTAi, along with AWTTC, HIS and the International Scientific Programme Committee, have created a programme that examines the challenges of embedding innovation in the health service. For 2021, HTAi is planning for delegates to participate both in person and virtually to share information and best practices, from cutting-edge technologies to advancing healthcare through system development.

AWTTC will use this unique opportunity to forge new partnerships and use the platform to showcase the UK’s world class expertise in health technology assessment.
