AWTTC at the Genomics Showcase Event 2026

30 April 2026

The All Wales Therapeutics and Toxicology Centre (AWTTC) attended the Genomics Showcase Event 2026, hosting a stand within the exhibition area throughout the day. The event on April 23rd at Cardiff City Stadium provided an excellent opportunity to engage with delegates, raise awareness of AWTTC’s ongoing work, and network with the many patient organisations, clinicians, researchers and wider NHS stakeholders in attendance.

Health Technology Analyst, Charlotte Levey, presented a poster at the conference reviewing implementation timelines for medicines recommended in Wales in 2025 that required genomic testing.

In addition, Dr Sophie Harding, Consultant Pharmacist for Pharmacogenomics, chaired the engaging session “Personalised Prescribing: how pharmacogenomics is changing care in Wales”.

The showcase featured a wide range of sessions highlighting advances in genomics partnerships, strategic research, personalised medicine, rare disease services, public health genomics, pharmacogenomics, psychiatric genomics, cancer biomarkers, advanced therapies and patient-centred innovation.

The event demonstrated the strong collaborative spirit across Wales in advancing genomics and precision medicine, and provided an informative, thought-provoking and inspiring experience for all who attended.
