Penicillin allergy de-labelling in adults in secondary care

Allergy testing will confirm or rule out an allergy to penicillin. This patient information leaflet summarises the process of testing for an allergy to penicillin. The leaflet covers:

  • the oral penicillin challenge test;
  • possible side effects;
  • finding out the test results; and
  • what happens afterwards.

The leaflet supports the All Wales guidance for penicillin allergy de-labelling in adults in secondary care.

The leaflets, and easy read formats, are available in Welsh and English.
