| Abstract | National Prescribing Indicators (NPIs) have been used by the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG) to promote safe and cost-effective prescribing in key therapeutic areas since 2004. The rate of change in medicine use in the 12 months prior to and post introduction was used to assess the impact of each NPI. NPIs had a varied impact on prescribing in Wales. |
