Yellow Card Centre Wales supports the WHO's World Patient Safety Day 2021

YCC Wales supported the campaign via social media and aimed to raise awareness of reporting suspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in pregnant and breast feeding women and in children to the Yellow Card scheme.

Children and pregnant women are particularly susceptible to ADRs because they are often not included in clinical trials when the safety profile of medicines is investigated. That means extra care must be taken to ensure that medicines and doses are correct for these patient groups, and that any suspected adverse drug reactions that may occur are reported.

YCC Wales produced and promoted the use of posters to highlight the importance of reporting ADRs in these groups.
