The All Wales Therapeutics and Toxicology Centre (AWTTC) is pleased to announce that a dedicated list of Blueteq forms available for use across NHS Wales is now live on the AWTTC website. This marks an important step in supporting health boards, trust and clinicians with the implementation of the Blueteq High Cost Drug (HCD) system.
The Blueteq HCD system plays an essential role in ensuring patients receive appropriate, evidence-based treatments while helping the NHS in Wales manage the growing complexities associated with high-cost prescribing. The system provides a single, standardised process for recording and approving treatments, with each form outlining eligibility criteria for specific medicines. A library of unique forms is being developed with input from clinicians across Wales, ensuring they remain practical, intuitive, and aligned with national guidance.
The newly published list of Blueteq forms will be updated steadily as additional forms are approved and made available. This ensures that clinicians and health board/trust teams always have access to up-to-date documentation to support safe, consistent, and efficient prescribing practices across Wales.
