NPIS Cardiff attends the 19th Medical Chemical Defense Conference in Munich

Last month one of our consultants Prof. James Coulson travelled to Munich, Germany to represent some of our unit’s work at the 19th Medical Chemical Defense Conference at the Bundeswehr Medical Academy, held on 2nd-3rd April. The conference focuses on research into counteracting chemical warfare agent poisoning.

James represented three posters titled:

  • Exposures to hydrofluoric acid in the workplace: a 20-year single poison centre retrospective study
  • A 10-year retrospective study of pralidoxime use as an antidote for organophosphate poisoning in enquiries made to the UK National Poisons Information Service (NPIS)
  • A ten-year retrospective review of anthrax enquiries to the United Kingdom National Poisons Information Service

It was an interesting conference with a great programme and the posters were well-received by conference attendees.
