The Greener Primary Care Wales Framework and Award Scheme was successful in winning the ‘A Healthier Wales’ award at the first national NHS Welsh Sustainability Awards held on Thursday 13 June 2024.
The awards saw over 80 applications from projects across all health boards and trusts in Wales, focusing on promoting sustainable healthcare and supporting the incorporation of sustainable practices into clinical care.
The team were delighted with the win and would like to extend their thanks to all who have supported the work, including the primary care practices who have participated in the Scheme over the past three years.
Sian Evans, Consultant in Public Health in the Primary Care Division said: “We were very excited to receive the award and have the work of the primary care contractors working with us recognised at such a prestigious event.
“Although Public Health Wales has led this work, the development of the Scheme has been made possible through the co-production, collaboration and support of our stakeholders and partners such as AWTTC.
“We are looking forward to building on the Scheme’s success through 2024 and into the future.”
