AWTTC presents work at PRIMM Annual Scientific Meeting

Prescribing and Research in Medicines Management (PRIMM) held its 32nd Annual Scientific Meeting in June 2021. The meeting explored “Big Data…is it the Future of Medicines Optimisation?” and AWTTC successfully submitted two posters.

The meeting explored “Big Data…is it the Future of Medicines Optimisation?” and speakers included Professor Sir Munir Pirmohamed talking about “Big Data” and Professor Sinead Brophy on “Machine Learning”.

Presentation 1 – Developing an all Wales National Formulary Monitoring System to demonstrate the rapid and comprehensive uptake of medicines deemed clinically-effective and cost-effective by NICE and AWMSG

Presentation 2 – Developing Medicines Stock Holding Tools to enable the daily monitoring of stock levels across secondary care in Wales during the COVID-19 pandemic

PRIMM (UK & Ireland) is an independent multi-disciplinary organisation devoted to the study of medicine use in society. The group focuses on the core pillars of research, education, outcomes, interventions, consumption and administration.

PRIMM aims to promote research in prescribing and medicines management in the British Isles:

  • with particular concern for improved patient care;
  • by encouraging networking between interested professionals; and
  • by providing a forum to present their work.
