All Wales Common Ailments Service formulary (Consultation)

We would welcome your comments on the draft paper entitled “All Wales Common Ailments Service formulary” and the associated Equality and Health Impact Assessment (EqHIA) Form.

This is an update to the existing ‘All Wales Common Ailments formulary’ document published in February 2018.

The Common Ailments Service aims to improve patient access to consistent, evidence-based advice for the management of common ailments. This consultation document includes updated monographs for the following ailments covered by the Service:

  • acne
  • allergic rhinitis
  • athlete’s foot
  • back pain
  • chickenpox
  • cold sores
  • conjunctivitis
  • constipation
  • diarrhoea
  • dry eye
  • dry skin
  • dyspepsia
  • haemorrhoids
  • head lice
  • infantile colic
  • ingrowing toenail
  • mouth ulcers
  • nappy rash
  • oral thrush
  • ringworm
  • scabies
  • sore throat
  • teething
  • threadworm
  • vaginal thrush
  • warts and verrucae

Patient information leaflets (PILs) to complement the service will be updated separately following finalisation and publication of the formulary document.
