In the absence of a submission from the holder of the marketing authorisation, doxycycline (Adjusan®) cannot be endorsed for use within NHS Wales for the treatment of chronic and aggressive periodontitis with a pocket depth of ≥ 5 mm in adults as an adjunct to conventional non-surgical treatment of periodontitis. Consideration should be given to official guidance on the appropriate use of antibacterial agents. |
